Leak Detection

Leak detection is carried out using various techniques from simple listening sticks and digital ground microphones to fully electronic corelation equipment.

Listening sticks and ground microphones are used by our experienced operatives to listen for the noise that the leak generates at likely leakage points.

Fully digital correlation equipment capable of finding leaks in plastic as well as metallic pipes can be used to find leaks over greater distances.Two digital microphones with radio transmitters are attached to the pipe at convenient points along the pipes length up to 1km apart, these microphones then send a signal to the central correlation unit which gives a position of the leak from each microphone.

The cost and time saving over conventional dig to locate leak detection techniques is huge, leaks can reliably be found using this system in minutes rather than days or weeks.
