Pipeline Chlorination/Dechlorination
Our chlorination services are completed using various types of chemical dosing equipment sized to suit client requirements.
We have various rigs available including portable units capable of chlorinating from hydrant supplies up to trailer mounted which can accomodate flow rates of up to 5000 litres per minute.
Dechlorination of chlorinated water is becoming an increasingly important environmental issue, to ensure that it is completed thoroughly and with minimum impact on the environment we pass the water to be discharged through the dosing unit and chemically dechlorinate the water using Sodium Bisulphate solution. This leaves it safe for discharge.
Chlorine levels are monitered at regual intervals and recorded on comprehensive daily record sheets. Levels are measured using idustry standard digital photometers.
Reservoir Chlorination/Dechlorination
Various chlorination and dechlorination methods are available dependant on the utility owners requirements.
The chlorination dosing pumps can be used to fill the reservoir with highly chlorinated water to any given strength and then allowed to stand to ensure thorough bacteriological cleansing, the reservoir can then be emptied and the water dechlorinated as discharged into a suitable agreed drainage point.
We are also able to spray chlorinate all contact surfaces within the tank and then fill the reservoir whilst checking the chlorus levels and adjusting as required. Using this method the water used for sterilisation can be returned into supply if the utility owners hygiene regulations allow.
